Best Ever Banana Bread

Banana Bread

2T. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. sour milk (milk + some vinegar)
3 bananas
1/2 t. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 t. baking soda
1/2 t. baking powder
1/2 t. salt

Mix it all up and bake at 325 for 1 hour.

I'll give credit to my Aunt Nancy since this is her recipe. Also some credit must be given to the stoneware pan from Pampered Chef...I love my stoneware. The only credit I take is in eating it!

Identity Crisis?

Yes. This is our SON. We do not have issues of confused gender identity, at least not that we know of. Needless to say, Dave was slightly concerned when both boys were fighting with their girl "cousins", Abby and Faith, over who got to wear the blue and pink (even better) high heeled shoes.

Three's-School Graduation

Last week, Jackson successfully graduated from Three's-School. It was so cute watching the kids in their little graduation hats go up to get their diploma and a gift from the teacher. Some kids were shy, but not Jackson. He marched right up there, proud as punch to get his things. I can't believe the school year is over for him, but we eagerly anticipate next year when he will attend the Spanish immersion class three mornings a week. But for now, it's time to be outside, get dirty, and just be a 4 year old boy!

Bath-ties?

J: "That's a silly thing to do mommy! Tying a baby up in the bath."

This was Jakson's response to finding out that baby Celia is being baptized on Sunday.

That was then, this is now...take 2

I can't believe that my big baby turned 4 this weekend! Where has the time gone? It was a wonderful way to share Mother's Day. Jackson, we are so proud of the young boy that you have become. You are creative, energetic, and full of life! We thank God for you each day, and pray that He will continue to bless you in the many years to come.
